Meet the Author

I'm a Professor of Race, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Simmons University in Boston. My first book was on the controversial film, “Fatal Attraction,” and despite my friends objections, I like the bunny on the cover.

In addition to “A Feminist Guide to Marriage,” I have published “Wife, Inc: The Business of Marriage in the Twenty-First Century.” I also coedited the award-winning anthology, “Imagining ‘We’ in the Age of ‘I’: Romance and Social Bonding in Contemporary Culture,” and “Fifty Hollywood Directors.”

I specialize in the intersections of feminism and popular culture and am always happy to talk about the latest books, movies, and television shows.
